We are proud to have been awarded Three Green Keys from the Hotel Association of Canada's new environmental performance program. Through this program, we look for ways to reduce our environmental impact. We choose soaps and detergents that are soft on the environment, install energy efficient lighting, upgrade heating ventilation and air conditioning systems and even find cool technology to help save a kilowatt or two.

As our guest, you can also play a part. Please re-use towels, recycle paper and plastic and turn off your lights and heating when leaving the room. Together, we can make a difference.

Every year, the Crowne Plaza Ottawa participates in the "Friends in Need" program. The program runs in late December and provides holiday season rates reduced by up to 75%. These reduced rates allow our hotel to donate up to $10 for each room sold during this period to a local charity. In 2007, the local charity was Roger's House.

The Crowne Plaza Ottawa is proud to be a sponsor of this worthy cause. The Ryan's Well Foundation raises funds for developing countries to help provide clean water and related health services. The foundation begin with a six year old boy's desire to help change the lives of others. Ryan Hreljac was only six years old when the charity was founded and since then he has raised over one million dollars which, to date, has helped build 232 wells in 11 developing countries.
